We Make Stuff For People Who Think Too Much.

Started in a basement in Brooklyn in 2019 by two designers who liked sweatshirts more than meetings. We still don't have an office. We probably never will.

The Long Version

A Crewneck, A Sticker, And A Bad Idea.

G'day Mate Co started because we couldn't find sweatshirts we actually wanted to wear. Everything felt either too serious or too try-hard. So we made one. Then someone asked where it was from. So we made fifty more.

Seven years later, we still print everything in small batches. We still get the proofs wrong sometimes. We still answer customer emails ourselves. We've turned down two offers to "scale" the brand because scaling means we'd care about each piece a little less, and that's the whole point.

Everything we make is designed in our Brooklyn studio. Most of our crewnecks are knit and sewn in Los Angeles. Some pieces are dyed in Portugal because they're really good at it there. We visit our factories. We pay above-rate. It is, mostly, a small business that occasionally feels normal.

Small Batches Only

No drop is bigger than 500 units. When it's gone, it's gone. We don't restock unless we genuinely want to wear it again ourselves.

Heavyweight Always

If we're going to make a crewneck, it's going to be 380gsm minimum. Thin sweatshirts are a crime.

Pay The Factory Right

We pay above-rate to the people who actually make the things. It's not virtue signaling — it's just how we want our business to work.

Everything is designed to look better at year four than year one. No trend pieces, no logos that age badly.

Every product page lists exactly what it's made of, where it was made, and who made it. We've nothing to hide.

60 days, no questions, no restocking fee. If you don't like it, send it back. We'd rather you wear our stuff than feel stuck with it.

How We Got Here

2019

The First Crewneck

Two founders, one borrowed sewing machine, fifty units sold to friends within a week. We didn't realize this was a business yet.

2020

The Basement Becomes A Studio

Moved out of the actual basement into a slightly less basement-y basement. Hired our first packer. Shipped Drop 02.

2022

10,000 Pieces Sold

We still don't know how. Featured in a magazine we'd never heard of. Politely turned down our first investor meeting.

2024

Members Club Launches

Started the newsletter. Members get 15% off forever and first access to drops. 8,400 people signed up before we'd even named it.

2026

Drop 14 (You Are Here)

Still in the basement. Still making 500 of each thing. Still not interested in scaling. New drop every six weeks.

Where do you make your stuff? +

Crewnecks and tees: Los Angeles. Hats: Brooklyn. Garment-dyeing: Portugal. Stickers: a Risograph press in our studio. Everything is small-batch and we visit our factories regularly.

Why are your drops so small? +

Because we'd rather make 500 perfect things than 5,000 okay things. Small batches let us experiment with materials and silhouettes without committing to inventory that doesn't move.

Do you restock? +
